Rick Schenker

Rick Schenker is president of Ratio Christi, a campus-based, Christian apologetics organization, which he joined in February, 2011. Rick has a visionary leadership style, and has experience in business, government, public and media relations, fundraising, and non-profit management. He has a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Central Bible College, and has done graduate work in public policy at Regent University, along with additional postgraduate work in leadership and public administration. Rick has extensive experience in grass-roots political organization and campaigns in the state of Pennsylvania. As the chief elected official of the County government in Erie, Pennsylvania, he oversaw 1,100 employees and a $300 million budget.

Blake Anderson

Blake Anderson, after working for 15 years in the field of civil engineering and land development as a project manager, changed career paths to begin preparation for full time Christian ministry by Studying at Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES) toward a degree in apologetics. He served for two years at SES in curriculum development and as Vice President of Institutional Development. He has experience in marketing, communications, and business development. In 2008 Blake assisted in the formulation and direction of the startup Ratio Christi ministry. Blake has a passion to show Christians the value of the discipleship of the mind, and to convince unbelievers that the Christian faith has reasonable and trustworthy answers to the deepest and most probing questions of life. He currently lives with Carol, his wife of 16 years, and his three children near Charlotte, North Carolina. Blake rejoined the Ratio Christi team in April 2011.

Simon Brace

Simon Brace is the Missions Director of Southern Evangelical Seminary. Simon was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in South Africa. Simon has a construction background and has lived in a number of countries and travelled extensively. He has a MA in Apologetics and BA in Religious Studies and is currently working on an MA in Philosophy at SES. Simon leads TEAM which is the missions program of SES on local, national, and international trips. In addition, Simon has worked with Ratio Christi at SES, and has an extensive knowledge of Ratio Christi’s history and operation.

Wayne Detzler

Wayne Detzler is the Academic Dean of Southern Evangelical Seminary. He is also the Director of the Graduate School of Ministry and Missions and the Director of the Bible College in addition to being a Professor of Biblical Studies, Missions, and Historical Theology. He has his B.A. and M.A. from Wheaton and his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester.

Terry Gentry

Terry Gentry is is a retired businessman from Boone, North Carolina. He is on the board of advisors for Ratio Christi – Appalachian State University. In college, Terry was the leader of Intervarsity Campus Ministries during his freshman year.  After being unable to answer the tough intellectual attacks against Christianity, Terry abandoned his faith. Later in life, Terry came back to Christ with the help of various apologetics ministries. He graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Guilford College, and has an M.B.A. from UNC-G. He also attended Wheaton College for 1 1/2 years.

Clay Jones

Clay Jones, is an Associate Professor of Christian Apologetics at Biola University. He holds a D. Min. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Formerly hosted Contend for Truth, a call-in nationally syndicated talk radio program. On his program he debated many people over eight years including John Cobb, Jr.; a professor of Buddhism; Jamal Badawi, Islamic Information Institute; a Muslim cleric; Lee Holzinger, Church of Scientology; Mormons; Jehovah’s Witness Greg Stafford; Dallas Blanchard, RCRC; Peta representatives; a euthanasia advocate; a secular humanist, Rep. Loretta Sanchez; KFI talk show host Bill Handle; Jimmy Creech, SoulForce; Bruce Ware; R. C. Sproul, Jr.; Robert Morey; R. Scott Clark; and a KJV only advocate. Dr. Jones was the executive director of Simon Greenleaf University (now Trinity Law School) has been on the pastoral staff of two large churches; has authored apologetic software as well as encyclopedia and journal articles; is writing a book, Why God Allows Evil, and speaks widely on that subject.

Mike Keas

Mike Keas earned a Ph.D. in the history of science from the University of Oklahoma.  He experienced some of the last historic moments behind the Berlin Wall as a Fulbright Scholar in East Germany.  He is Professor of the History and Philosophy of Science at the College at Southwestern and an adjunct professor in Biola University’s M.A. program in Science and Religion.  He teaches physical science, biology, philosophy, logic, apologetics, hermeneutics, rhetoric, intellectual history, and the history of science and religion.  As a Senior Fellow of Discovery Institute, he co-authors high school and college science curriculum.  He also leads workshops for science teachers on how to teach about controversial subjects such as Darwinism.  His work in the history and philosophy of science has received funding from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies. He has addressed such topics in presentations at the East German Akademie der Wissenschaften, Humboldt University, Oxford University, Chemical Heritage Foundation, Wright Center for Science Education, and the University of Minnesota.  He has contributed articles to several scholarly journals and anthologies, including the American Chemical Society's Nobel Laureates in Chemistry and Darwinism, Design and Public Education published by Michigan State University Press.  He is the principal content provider for Focus on the Family’s apologetics website www.TrueU.org, which supports a college-oriented DVD apologetics curriculum.

Casey Mattox

Casey Mattox, Esq. is a Director of Ratio Christi.  Mr. Mattox serves as Senior Legal Counsel and allied attorney coordinator with the Alliance Defense Fund at its Washington, D.C., Regional Service Center. Since joining ADF in 2009, Mattox has focused on working with allied attorneys to litigate cases to protect the rights of Christian students, faculty, and staff at public colleges and universities in concert with the ADF Center for Academic Freedom. Mr. Mattox earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2001. Prior to serving with ADF, he litigated for the Christian Legal Society Center for Law & Religious Freedom, as well as the Rutherford Institute, and clerked for Justice Champ Lyons of the Alabama Supreme Court. Mr. Mattox is a member of the bar in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Seventh, Ninth, and D.C. Circuits, Virginia, the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the Northern District of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Mattox attends Burke Community Church.  He also served as an assistant youth pastor of a multi-denominational church in Cairo, Egypt from 1997-1998. He brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the position of Director of Ratio Christi.

John Stonestreet

John Stonestreet has a passion is to illuminate a biblical worldview for today's culture. He is a speaker, writer, cultural commentator, and collaborator of worldview initiatives. In his shared role with the Colson Center and Summit Ministries, John directs conferences and curriculum projects, speaks to groups nationally and internationally, consults on worldview education for schools and churches, and appears frequently on web and radio broadcasts. As the host of The Point, a daily national radio program, John provides thought-provoking commentaries on current events and life issues from a biblical worldview. John holds degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (IL) and Bryan College (TN), and is the co-author of Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview. He and his wife Sarah have three daughters and a dog, and live in Colorado Springs, CO.

Lonnie R. Welch

Professor Lonnie R. Welch received a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the Ohio State University. Currently, he is the Stuckey Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio University (OHIO).  He is also a member of the Graduate Faculties of OHIO’s Biomedical Engineering Program and Molecular & Cellular Biology Program.  Dr. Welch directs the Bioinformatics Laboratory at OHIO.  His research has produced more than 150 publications, and has been sponsored by the National Human Genome Research Institute, NASA, the Ohio Plant Biotechnology Consortium, the Ohio Board of Regents, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and the National Science Foundation.  Dr. Welch is the founder and Chair of the Great Lakes Bioinformatics Conference, an official conference of the International Society on Computational Biology. Dr. Welch is also the Ratio Chapter Director for Ohio University, and will serve as the Chapter Director’s representative on the Board.

Randy Hardman

Randy Hardman is the original founder and President of Ratio Christi. From the spring of 2008 to the spring of 2009 he also served as the Director of the first Ratio Christi chapter at ASU in Boone, NC. He currently lives in Wilmore, KY and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from Appalachian State University and is currently pursuing both a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary.  Randy has served with Summit Ministries (East) from 2007 to 2010 as a counselor and recently served as their Classroom Director. He continues to serve with them as a Summit Ministries Ambassador, doing lectures and presentations around the country. Aside from academics, he plays guitar and bass, enjoys hiking outdoors, and is an avid Greenbay Packer's fan. Randy has been on hiatus from Ratio Christi pursuing his education at Asbury.
