This conference is presented by the C.S. Lewis society, and will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater on Feb. 24th and 25th. It will focus on the physical and spiritual health implications of the discoveries that have been made about the "epigenetic software" that runs our cellular DNA. Michael Behe, a top leader in the intelligent design movement will be on hand at this conference, along with Rick Sternberg, a scientist featured in the movie "Expelled" . This is a great oportunity! The cost is $12 for adults, $5 for students ($17 and $9 respectively) to include lunch on Sat.
On March 24th, in the National Mall, a number of atheist speakers and celebrities, including Richard Dawkins, Dan Barker, and P.Z. Myers will be holding a “Reason Rally” (www.reasonrally.com). While there isn’t much in the way of specifics about what will be said at the rally, one thing is clear - it is an attempt to raise the profile of secular values and encourage non-believers to be more outspoken in their non-belief..
A group of Christians will be present at the rally, hoping to engage the attendees in discussion. Details of this coordinated effort can be found at www.TrueReason.org. Also, a book will soon be published in response to the rally. Stay tuned!
